Kick-off of the Espa European Epidemiologic survey on Balneotherapy
Kick-off of the Espa European Epidemiologic survey on Balneotherapy
Since 1995, ESPA has committed itself to a better recognition of balneotherapy and the valuing of its contribution to the prevention and management of chronic diseases and major public health issues.

We shared the statement that prior to the assessment of the actual medical benefit of spa cares, there was a compelling need to get a more accurate picture of the conditions treated by spa therapy and by means of which types of cares. This would definitely enable us to better identify the type of patients that can benefit from spa treatments as well as to highlight national specificities and common features of balneotherapy in Europe.

This is actually the goal of the epidemiologic survey that ESPA is currently conducting in 12 European countries.

Wiesbaden (Germany), November 21, 22
Despite the development of new pharmaceutical as well as the constant improvement of diagnostics and treatment options, it will be increasingly difficult to achieve universal healthcare coverage of the same level for all concerned. The classical health system leads to a dead end. Against the background of a looming explosion of health costs, HEALTH PREVENTION is therefore becoming increasingly important.

From November 21 to 22, 2018, approx. 100 experts (health insurance companies, associations, scientists, etc.) will be discussing options for strengthening health travels based on natural local remedies as part of the Wiesbaden European Health Prevention Days under the title "Health Prevention with Nature". The event is organised by the international expert group "Quality in Health Prevention e.V.".
