ESPA has been present in Romania, Covasna, at the Balneal Tourism Workshop and Conference, organised by OPTBR (The Romanian Spa Owner's Organization), an unique event on the Romanian market. The Balneal Tourism Workshop and conference, recognized as a big opportunity to present, share and win information and news from the balneal and spa/wellness sector. This year the 14th edition took place in Covasna, Hotel Caprioara ****.

ESPA contributions to the Horizon Europe - MANIFESTO CAMPAIGN - More EU Budget for Tourism
The European Travel Commission is planning to launch the final text of the Manifesto Campaign on more EU budget for tourism. In the meantime is asking for more inputs to make the message stronger. In order to achieve this, ETC (European Travel Commission) needs to explain WHY tourism is important to be included under each MFF (multiannual financial framework) strategic priority and give examples of tourism projects that could be implemented in each specific area.

The EU - China Business and Technology Cooperation Fair has been held for 12 editions, with an overall attendance ofover 3,570 European enterprises. At the Conference, for the first time there is a sector dedicated to Tourism. The opening lecture will be about Health Tourism as a niche segment, in cooperation with ESPA, OBOR and HiSeas. At the Conference, Mr. Viktor Veréb will represent ESPA as a guest speaker.

ESPA access to the Chinese market through collaboration with HiSEAS International Travel Group
Thanks to the extensive network of OBOR Committee with regard to the Chinese market and industry stakeholders, following up on the strategic partnership established between ESPA and OBOR Committee ESPA has recently gained access to the Chinese market through setting up a collaboration with a widely acknowledged Chinese DMC, HiSEAS International Travel Group.
Under the framwork of this collaboration, HiSEAS shall be responsible for helping ESPA to promote in China. The service contents include but not limited to market research, exploring tourists source, building sales channels and network, promoting and maintaining the brand image.

The European Week of Sport is our response to encourage all Europeans to get up and #BeActive. It is a truly European movement that began in 2015 and has inspired millions of people in 32 countries to #BeActive in their everyday lives. European Spas Association agrees with the principles set out for the European Week of Sport and will actively support and contribute with their communication platforms and audience reach to the awareness-raising activities and initiatives developed by the European Commission in the context of European Week of Sport.

Various Leisure - Time Physical Activities Associated With Widely Divergent Life Expectancies: The Copenhagen City Heart Study
Patients and Methods
The Copenhagen City Heart Study (CCHS) is a prospective population study that included detailed questionnaires regarding participation in different types of sports and leisure-time physical activity. The 8577 participants were followed for up to 25 years for all-cause mortality from their examination between October 10, 1991, and September 16, 1994, until March 22, 2017. Relative risks were calculated using Cox proportional hazards models with full adjustment for confounding variables.

A Healthy European Budget?
Health is an enabler of social and economic participation. It is therefore vital to address key factors that undermine people’s opportunities for good health and wellbeing.
Earlier this year the European Commission published a set of proposals for the next EU budget 2021-2027, the Multiannual Financial Framework. Many of the areas affected by the EU budget are relevant to health – an issue most Europeans want more EU action on. EuroHealthNet has therefore produced brief analyses of 14 budget proposals from a health and health equity perspective.  They cover a diverse range of topics including research, education, agriculture, investment, the digital agenda, and structural reform, as well as those traditionally associated with health and social issues.
